Cllr Mark Hill

Mark has been proud to serve as one of your Councillors since May 2000. During this time he has made sure that he stays in contact with all residents all year round. He maintains a close contact by regularly attending residents' meetings, dealing with many local problems and holding regular advice bureaux. This helps keep him informed of residents' concerns and worries.

Ever since the Conservatives became the ruling group on the council in 2004, he has been Chairman of the Regeneration Overview and Scrutiny Committee. Since May 2007 he has become the Chairman of the Local Services and Community Safety Overview and Scrutiny Committee. These roles look at challenging the decisions made by the Executive carrying out policy reviews of the council.

For his day job, Mark works as a self employed public affairs consultant. This involves lobbying Parliament to bring about policy changes and providing briefings. He decided to become self employed as it was difficult being a young councillor and having a full time 9-5 job. His main interests are sport, travel and reading.
